Pulsed power technology is advancing disinfection processes by delivering short bursts of high-voltage pulses to generate powerful electrical discharges. This approach enhances the removal of impurities without relying on additional chemicals, making it both environmentally and economically beneficial.

To develop this technology, a high-voltage pulsed power system was designed using advanced Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. Improvements in later designs have increased reliability, voltage ratings, and pulse accuracy. The system generates 17kV pulses with a rise time of under 15ns and a repetition frequency of 5kHz, ensuring efficient plasma activation for optimal sterilization.

Experimental validation confirms that this method significantly improves disinfection efficiency while reducing operational costs. By increasing energy efficiency and system longevity, pulsed power technology offers a transformative solution for medical and industrial sterilization.

Pulsed power technology allows for much more energy-efficient plasma generation, significantly reducing operational costs and offering a substantial improvement over current plasma-based solutions. Our research indicates that we generate ozone using up to 80% less energy on average. This means that with our pulsed power technology, we can significantly improve both the efficiency and sustainability of ozone production, while also lowering costs and environmental impact.
